Be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making music from your heart to the Lord. (Ephesians 5:18-19)
Saturday 21st February 2026, 11am - 4pm, at St James' Church in Burton-in-Kendal.
Join your voice to that of Jesus Christ as we sing the psalms. Experience the unity of the Spirit and the encouragement of God’s Word as we sing the psalms together.
Singing psalms is commanded by God. It is part of a life filled with the Holy Spirit. We join our voices with Christ, our heavenly Worship Leader. If doctrine strengthens our minds, psalm-singing fortifies our hearts. Picture an army preparing for battle. Jesus is the Lion of Judah and this will be a day to roar the psalms. It is also a day to engage with the psalms as God’s Word centered on Jesus.
This is a day for everyone - whether or not you call yourself ‘musical’. We will be singing the psalms in a variety of styles. The emphasis is on enthusiastic participation rather than musical perfection. No prior knowledge of music is required; once you have booked you will be given exclusive access to a Psalm Learning Page to help you prepare. As we gather to sing the psalms you will be encouraged in Christ and emboldened by the power of the words and the strength of the singing.
There will be regular breaks through the day. Please bring your own packed lunch. We suggest a donation of £10-£15 per adult. Children are encouraged to attend and there is no cost for them.
